Being a force of nature doesn t keep you safe.Hunter Garrity is used to watching his back. The kids at school sense something different about him. And they re right.

Hunter has powers that have nothing to do with how hard he can throw a punch.

Maybe that s what Clare Kasten is picking up. She s shy, quiet, and intense, but she s sought him out. There s no telling what she wants from him.

But Hunter knows enough to sense a secret when it s close. And getting close to Clare is a danger he s ready to face.

This is a teaser to get you to book #2.

This mini book is a little background information on Hunter. This is Hunter's life before his uncle and dad were killed. This little peek shows us how Hunter's father viewed others and how he thought Hunter should see others as well in order to survive. Being a 5th means you feel others emotions and passions but you also draw others to you and not always in a good way.

Hunter has to deal with bully's and knowing he could probably kill them with not too much trouble makes it that much harder to control his anger. Hunter does a good job of controlling his emotions and dealing with people, however when a shy girl comes along and wants Hunter to help her learn about guns he is thrown off balance.

Hunter's father teaches him that he should not trust so easily and that everyone is going to want something from you, everyone will use you, be prepared to deal with it and be prepared to use them first. Is this lesson really necessary when a shy girl just wants to talk to you and you can feel her sincerity? Maybe not but Hunter will find out one way or another.

Good look into Hunter's past. This short story gives the readers a little more insight into Hunter's thought process and why he thinks the way he does.
