Kayden is a bad boy that never played by the rules. Sophia has always been the quintessential good girl, living a life filled with disappointment. Everything changes when their lives become intertwined through a chance encounter online.

Hundreds of miles separate them, but the connection that draws them together is too much to be denied. As the layers of their lives peel back, Kayden keeps the dangerous parts of his past hidden to protect the woman who is becoming more important to him than he should allow. What starts as a pursuit of carnal pleasure turns into a complicated love story. His past is a tangled web filled with addiction, an obsessed ex-girlfriend, and problems with the law.

One mistake he thought he had left behind may end up ruining it all.

************************************

Kayden Michaels started out with a destructive past. Kayden partied hard, loved harder, and would crash and burn left to his own vices.  But once Kayden gets a glimpse of Sophia on FB he is hooked. Her eyes and hair and sucking him in. He sends her a friend request and tells her that he wrestled with her brother back in high school. Sophia checks out his story and finds out that a very close friend of the family was pretty good friends with him back in the day. Sophia now feels safe to except his request and thank goodness because she is finding him scorching hot.

Sophia feels a little more brave speaking the Kayden online or through texting. She is a bit shy in person. Sophia is a school librarian and Kayden installs cable.  They live states apart but find a really awesome flirtatious friendship. Kayden's feelings for Sophia are so intense that he stops seeing all of his normally scheduled booty calls. Kayden cannot wait each day to speak with Sophia. Sophia feels the same with Kayden even though they have never met in Real Life. Now is the time. Kayden asks Sophia to visit him in New Orleans. This trip will change both of their lives forever.

After Sophia and Kayden met and Sophis goes back home they still speak and text daily but add Skyping on a regular basis. They are doing the long distance relationship thing and of course Sophia has her fears with Kayden being such a playboy so far away.

Kayden's ex Lisa is a conniving lunatic. She wants Kayden back and tries to break Sophia and Kayden apart. Kayden is already in trouble and on probation because of Lisa and tries to keep out of her reach. Sophia and Kayden have a long road ahead of them. Kayden loses his job in New Orleans and starts filling his days with drinking and cutting Sophia out of his life. It is the last thing Kayden wants to do but he is a slave to alcohol and needs serious help.

Sophia does not want to give up on Kayden or their relationship. Sophia goes to New Orleans to save Kayden from himself and take him home with her to share the apartment her and Suzy have. Once they start living together Kayden feels a little better about the future with Sophia but with the couple on Lisa's CRAZY radar they are under attack. Lisa texts, emails, sends letters...... she does everything to make the couple miserable. Kayden and Sophia stay strong and fight for their relationship.

I have a feeling that even though the story ended with the outcome of the couple and Lisa's future that Lisa will be seen again. I don't think the author is done with the Lisa character. I could be wrong. In terms of Kayden I felt that the character should have contacted his parole officer about Lisa a lot sooner but I also understood that Kayden's character felt defeated with the law. I like that Sophia stepped in a told Kayden to keep everything that Lisa sent him and that they were going to go to the parole officer and judge to show them evidence of Lisa's stalking and threats to try to help Kayden out of the mess he was currently in.

I like the way that Sophia handled Kayden's drinking addiction. But I feel like Sophia should have asked him to leave New Orleans the minute his job was in jeopardy. I also feel that if Kayden was leaving New Orleans even if temporary to live with Sophia they should have taken the very little belongings he had with them at that time.

Suzy was introduced but not to much time was spent on that character. I already read "Throttle Me" which seems like a spin off of this series. "Throttle Me" is Suzy's story after Kayden and Sophia get together and is the 1st book in the Men Of Inked series. You will see in Throttle Me a little more of a look into Kayden, Sophia and Suzy's friendship and it is really beautiful. Kayden was accepted in Suzy's life with open arms and no judgement. Kayden is like a big brother to her and very protective. Kayden feels the same for Suzy and treats her like a little sister. There is a lot of love between all 3 main characters.

It was not an out of control roller coaster that some enjoy but this relationship did have some turbulence. It also had a lot of sex, recreational drug use, alcohol abuse, and a small amount of S&M, so be prepared if you are going to read this story.
