Take Back Tomorrow by Richard Levesque
What if all you had to do to make your dreams come true was violate the laws of the universe?

That's not just a philosophical question Eddie Royce has to answer. It's a choice he has to make when the most famous science fiction writer of the 1930s goes missing and his unscrupulous publisher becomes convinced that Eddie knows all of the older writer's secrets--not just the secret of where he's gone, but the secret of how he's traveled in time.

Until now, Eddie's fooled himself into thinking he's got the system figured out, "borrowing" plots from Shakespeare and rewriting them as space operas to make a name for himself in the pulps. But when he finds out that Chester Blackwood--his idol and inspiration--has been cheating the system in ways Eddie could never have dreamed of, the hack science fiction writer finds himself in the middle of a plot that his pulp readers would never have imagined.

Now he has to do all he can to save himself--and Blackwood's beautiful daughter--from the powerful figures who all want Blackwood's secret. And violating the laws of the universe might just be the least of Eddie's problems.

Through painstaking research and a writer’s creative mind, Mesu Andrews weaves an emotional and stirring account of this well-known story told through the eyes of the women who loved him. The Naughty Never Die by L.L. Kellogg

The Beauty--a chronic people pleaser who's had enough of her goody-two-shoes life

Since her mother's untimely death, crusader Josephine Callahan has served as New Jersey's First Lady. Acting as her father's official hostess in the governor's mansion is tantamount to living in a fishbowl, which makes S-E-X extremely difficult. On the brink of a nervous breakdown, frustrated Josie loses her usual good sense along with her cool and lets her assemblyman boyfriend sweet-talk her into an impromptu romantic getaway--something she would never consider if she had a clue someone is trying to kill her.

The Beast--an incurable bad boy who refuses to admit beneath his scars lurks a hero.

A deliberately twisted message, via the governor's spiteful assistant, misleads ex Special Forces officer, DJ Ryder, as to the true objective of his freelance assignment. He's told to, not only track down the governor's classy daughter and hold her in protective custody, but to also teach her a lesson by letting her believe she's been kidnapped.

When Josie discovers the scarred, but still sexy, badass has played her for a fool, she retaliates by feigning a raging case of Stockholm syndrome, teasing the brute until all he can think of is the 'hold her' part of his orders. How can Ryder concentrate on keeping Josie safe when he's busy avoiding the danger she poses to his heart?

NOTE: This book has an extra high sensuality level and is not for those seeking a 'sweet' romance.

When Wayland North brings rain to a region that’s been dry for over ten years, he’s promised anything he’d like as a reward. He chooses the village elder’s daughter, sixteen-year-old Sydelle Mirabel, who is a skilled weaver and has an unusual knack for repairing his magical cloaks. Though Sydelle has dreamt of escaping her home, she’s hurt that her parents relinquish her so freely and finds herself awed and afraid of the slightly ragtag wizard who is unlike any of the men of magic in the tales she’s heard. Still, she is drawn to this mysterious man who is fiercely protective of her and so reluctant to share his own past.

The pair rushes toward the capital, intent to stop an imminent war, pursued by Reuel Dorwan (a dark wizard who has taken a keen interest in Sydelle) and plagued by unusually wild weather. But the sudden earthquakes and freak snowstorms may not be a coincidence. As Sydelle discovers North’s dark secret and the reason for his interest in her and learns to master her own mysterious power, it becomes increasingly clear that the fate of the kingdom rests in her fingertips. She will either be a savior, weaving together the frayed bonds between Saldorra and Auster, or the disastrous force that destroys both kingdoms forever.

*********************************************************
Sydelle is from a village that is known for their sand.  It never rains and sand is there main source for trade.  Henry is her best friend and they have grown up in the same little village. Sydelle is a weaver and loves her loom.  She is creative and sews and weaves for her village. One day while Sydelle and Henry are gathering food it begins to rain and out of no where a wizard appears.  Not just any wizard Wayland North.  North has come to warn the villagers of the coming war.  As a thank you they offer North whatever he chooses.  Well he chooses Sydelle.

He needs Sydelle to accompany him to the castle to stop the war.  The King has been poisoned and is now dead.  They believe a wizard is behind the murder and now WAR against the wizards is about to begin.  In order to avoid the impending war North must deliver a vital message to the castle.  That piece of information is who is really responsible for the murder of the King.  It is a rouge wizard who uses black magic.

Now Sydelle and North set out on an adventure to reach the castle.  Along the way Sydelle stops hating North for stealing her from her family and starts to care for him.  North's intentions towards Sydelle are selfish and protective at the same time.  North wants to protect Sydelle from the other wizards and herself but also he wants to use her to help him fight a cures that was placed on his family.

When Sydelle finds out what she really is, who she really is, and why North stole her, her feelings are twisted into anger towards North.  Now North must make Sydelle understand why he took her, save her from the rouge wizard, and protect her from all that want to use her.

While this story was a nice read, I did not really feel that connected.  I had this book on my TBR list for quite sometime so maybe I expected to much.  I liked Sydelle character but there was so little revealed about North that I found it hard to really feel anything for the character.  Even when you understand that he loves Sydelle.  I feel that very little action actually happens on the way to the castle and was a little bored with the story.  I feel disappointed in this book.

Heist School Freshmen by Alan Gallauresi

Angelo Bastillo has just started high school, and already his life is over: dumped by the dream girl he's been crushing on for years, hating every class, terrorized by twin bullies, and forced to consult a suicide line in lieu of therapy by his overprotective (and incredibly cheap) father. Then he, his best friend Drew Wales and the geeky new kid in school, Lionel "Porno Name" Tang, stumble upon a secret cache of dirty money that can make them rich -- if they can only find a way to steal it. So, they decide to put together a team.

Meet their crew: Portia Wentworth, gorgeous drama club temptress with a secret, now turned con artist. Kyle Williams is their hitman-for-hire computer hacker with a heart of stone. And Charles Crewel, the "nice guy" star football player sidelined with a season ending injury? Well, he's the muscle of the operation -- all 283 bone-crunching pounds of him. When the team adds the suspect assistance of a mysterious senior class mastermind known only as "The Saint", all the pieces begin to fall into place.

Now Angelo is ready to plan an incredible heist to pull off the big score. Everyone is counting on him. But with his daily life full of complicated boy/girl drama, depression, sub-minimum wage "character building", completely unnecessary pop quizzes, and a truly unhealthy but incredibly satisfying amount of videogames, can he finish the job and still manage to finish freshman year?

This "entertaining and brilliantly comic novel"* is sure to appeal to teens, fans of young adult literature, crime buffs, people who still keep old episodes of Leverage on their Tivo (even though their hard drive is getting pretty full) -- basically, anyone who ever went to high school and wished it could have been just a little bit more thrilling, and a whole lot funnier.
